Tight-Knit ‘Politburo’ Actually Controlled Biden’s Presidency: Book

Former President Joe Biden’s administration faced scrutiny after he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and a new  book alleged a secretive inner circle, dubbed “the Politburo,” ran the presidency

In Original Sin, co-authors Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper claim longtime aides and Biden family members like Ron Klain, Jill Biden, and Hunter Biden managed daily operations, shielding Biden from key decisions.

The book argues this group acted without voter approval, raising concerns over democratic accountability.

An anonymous aide reportedly said the plan for a second term was for Biden to “win, then disappear,” as unelected staffers governed. The group justified this, claiming Trump posed an “existential threat” to democracy.
