My Father Married My Mother’s Sister — Then My Brother Revealed a Terrifying Secret

Cancer took my mother only a few months ago after a long and painful battle. My younger brother and I stayed beside her until her final breath, believing our family would never recover from the loss.
But before we could even process our grief, Dad invited us to dinner and revealed news that changed everything.

That night, he confessed he had fallen in love with Claire — my mother’s younger sister. He explained that while grieving together after Mom’s death, they became emotionally close and quickly decided to marry.
The announcement felt unreal, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t understand how he had moved on so fast.

Despite my shock, I forced myself to attend their wedding and support him. Friends and relatives filled the venue with smiles and celebration while Aunt Claire proudly walked around as the bride.
I stood quietly in the crowd, pretending everything was normal while my heart felt heavier with every passing minute.

Then my younger brother arrived late, looking pale and nervous. He grabbed my arm and urgently pulled me away from the guests, his hands trembling as he reached into his jacket pocket.
“You need to know the truth about Dad,” he whispered. “He’s not who he pretended to be.”

From his pocket, he removed a sealed envelope addressed in our mother’s handwriting. My brother explained that Mom’s lawyer had given him the letter after discovering something horrifying before her death.
As I slowly opened the envelope at Dad’s wedding, I realized our family’s darkest secret was finally about to come to light.
