They Spent a Lifetime Together — But One Secret Changed Everything

A husband and wife had been married for decades, and their heated disputes were famous throughout the neighborhood—their shouting matches could be heard echoing through the streets well past midnight. The elderly husband would frequently bellow during these arguments, “Mark my words, when I’m dead and buried, I’ll claw my way back up and torment you for eternity!”

The local residents lived in fear of the cantankerous old man, which seemed to bring him considerable satisfaction.

Eventually, at 98 years old, the man passed away.

Following the burial service, the anxious neighbors approached his widow and asked, “Aren’t you concerned he might actually dig himself out and come back to haunt you?”
