I paid for both seats and boarded the plane expecting a peaceful trip. Everything seemed fine until a mother traveling with a toddler noticed the empty seat beside me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Without asking many questions, she assumed her child could sit there. When I politely explained that I had purchased the seat for my own comfort, her attitude changed immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She argued that a child needed the seat more than I did and suggested that I was being unreasonable. Several nearby passengers began paying attention to the disagreement, and I suddenly found myself at the center of unwanted attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A flight attendant arrived to handle the situation. After reviewing the boarding information, she confirmed that both seats were listed under my reservation and that I had every right to use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mother continued protesting, but the airline employee remained professional and firm. Eventually, the child returned to the seat originally assigned to them, and the situation settled down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The experience reminded me that setting boundaries does not make someone selfish. I paid for a service, followed the rules, and simply asked that my purchase be respected.
